Optel LCD Watch (3)

Owner Wayne Scheiman noted that Optel was based in New Jersey (USA), (possibly Princeton), and had this designed without a stem to change the time. Optel claimed it was so accurate it never needed to be changed. His father was a mechanical and electrical engineer and had questioned about time zone and daylight savings time??? The crown was designed by his dad using a spring made from a High E guitar string (Ernie Ball Ultralights). His father later went on to found the DWR Corp, Digital Watch Repair Corp, as no jeweler could fix a digital watch. Wayne received this watch as a bar mitzvah present in 1973.
