A fond farewell!

Over the last 8 or 9 years, this site has grown from a simple idea - sharing what I knew about a vintage collectible that I was interested in - to a world-wide resource for fellow collectors, researchers, and historians.  Via email, I have met hundreds of new friends from around this small planet.  I have enjoyed discussing and learning more about the early development of LED watches and their growth in the 1970s. You have kindly shared photos of your watches. Some have written wonderful stories.  I've enjoyed every email, every conversation, every request for help that I received.

Unfortunately over the last year or so my workload at my "paying" job, my time with family, and my additional writing projects have become more demanding. It's often months between updating the site with new watches and other content. I've felt bad that I've let some kind contributors down in that delay.

I'm passing on the baton to this site to Ed Cantarella who is creating a web project that will better suit digital watch enthusiasts.  In coming days, he will be taking over full control of this site and will eventually include it as part of his www.thedigitalwatch.com/

Even though we have never met in person, I will miss each and every one of you.  Maybe I've helped you.  Maybe I've shown you some watches that you never knew existed.  Maybe you learned something in the various articles and ads that I've posted on this site.  Maybe you shared with me a photo or a remembrance of a watch I never knew about.

Thank you for everything.  I'll miss you and I'll miss this site.  I wish the best to Ed and all the other collectors who help build his new project.  I'll still be around in case you want to email me.  You can always drop by my website at www.guyball.com in case you need to remember my email address.  (The address posted there is different than my posted address on this site, but both will get to me.)

Thanks for everything & I wish you all the best!

p.s.  From the beginning, I noted that the photos and content that you allowed me to post still belonged to you. It was the right thing to do. I "own" only the content that I wrote or produced and Ed has my permission to use that. If for whatever reason, you do not wish your content to be published any longer, please let him know.  However, I urge you to let him have permission as you did me. There are thousands and thousands of people who come to this site and your content is important to them.

 Thank you!

To all the hundreds of collectors and dealers who have supplied this site with photographs of their watches. Without you, this site would not be as robust and as informative as it is.  This site is used as a reference and resource for thousands of collectors and historians around the world.  And it would not have happened without your help!

Guy
